I have been asked to give evidence to the Cabinet Scrutiny Committee when it meets next Wednesday, 19th January 2011 at 10am at Sessions House Maidstone.
This Committee will "call in" the decisions Graham Gibbens makes in two days time - one of which, as we all expect, will be to close Bowles Lodge.
I will be making an important statement at this meeting and answer Members' questions.
This Committee does have the power to delay confirmation of decisions if it decides, based on the evidence presented, that the consultation process was not done properly. It could refer the matter to the whole Council to review.

The legal process to save Bowles Lodge is over but the spirit of Bowles Lodge lives on!

We lost our case in the High Court but decision-makers at local and national level were made aware of the devastating consequences of moving elderly people - no matter how carefully it is done.
